On August 29, 2023, our student council successfully hosted a workshop dedicated to enhancing the mental well-being of our medical students. Held at the Paeds LR Auditorium, the event provided a supportive space for personal reflection and growth.
The workshop commenced with an anonymous mental wellness assessment conducted by experienced psychiatrists, allowing students to gain insights into their mental health.
Participants engaged in a series of enriching activities designed to foster connection and self-awareness. The session began with an engaging introduction and icebreaker, followed by a scenario-based assessment that encouraged interactive discussion and critical thinking.
Students also took part in gratitude journaling, where they reflected on and shared five things they were grateful for, promoting a positive outlook. The affirmation card activity allowed students to create and share personal affirmations, enhancing their sense of empowerment and positivity.
The event concluded with an insightful talk by a psychologist, providing valuable guidance on managing stress and maintaining emotional well-being.
Overall, the workshop was a success, offering practical tools and a supportive environment to support the mental and emotional health of our student body
